The Young Democrats of Denton County (YDDC) is a chartered organization with the Texas Young Democrats under the Young Democrats of America. Our organization welcomes progressives and Democrats ages 14-40 who are committed to empowering young voters and electing candidates who share our values up and down the ballot.
Currently, our membership includes students, community leaders, activists, young professionals, and elected officials who are working hard to build a better future for residents of Denton County. YDDC is committed to uplifting young people. We believe grassroots organizing and being involved in the political process is how we can bring change to our communities.

We meet at 6:00 p.m. on the last Sunday of every month to discuss ongoing projects, organize for causes and candidates, and meet young progressives and Democrats across the county.
Each meeting is hybrid (in-person and virtual). Meeting information will be sent to all members every month. Join today to receive more information.
To be eligible to be a member in good standing, you must be between the ages of 14-40 and live within Denton County. Individuals over the age of 40 may join us with our Young at Heart membership to support us, but do not hold voting rights within the organization.

At YDDC, we want to be as inclusive as possible, and do not want to keep any member from being part of our organization. YDDC has a scholarship program that can cover members experiencing financial hardship.
YDDC accepts members throughout the entire year! However, at our March membership meeting on the last Sunday of the month, all members must renew their membership and reapply to be a member in good standing.
Executive Board elections are every year during our March membership meeting. Any member in good standing may run for one of the 5 positions. The general membership votes on each seat, and the seat is won by a majority vote.
Each Executive Board member chairs a committee. Every year after the March membership meeting, the newly elected Executive Board has one month to recruit members for their committees. At the April meeting, members who wish to join a committee are voted on by the general assembly. Any member in good standing can be a member in 2 committees. With the approval of the Executive Board, members can be in 3 committees.
